Course Overview

The Graphic Design programme at TDV surpasses traditional approach to graphic design that is restricted to only decoration or aesthetic embellishments to encompass a more effective approach that relies on the transformative power of design interventions in making a difference in the built environment.

The basic concepts of the programme emphasise conceptual innovation and creativity where students develop the necessary abilities for competitive terms by working with both modern digital forms and conventional print media.

Our students are encouraged to build a unique conceptual approach to problem-solving by combining technical understanding with research approaches which makes it one the best graphics and communication design courses in Delhi NCR.

Graphic and Communication Design courses are made to equip the students with tools and techniques which can help them to become a Graphic designer who doesn’t only solve problems of today but also proposes new ways for the future.

Students go through courses like Material and Medium, which covers various print techniques and understand why and how the graphic design discipline has evolved over the years. They work with specific skill based courses like Animation, where they learn about character design, motion of objects, the basics of timing, creating keyframes and animating between them.

Through a course in Typography, students learn the importance of Type and typefaces– how to best use them and if interested they are provided guidance to learn the art of type design. There are also courses in visual culture, colour theory, visual ergonomics, packaging, publication design and branding, which a student in graphic design is exposed to.

Curriculum

The course places a substantial emphasis on conceptual development, with a particular focus on acquiring technical skills, creative thinking capabilities, and a sense of design's social, ecological, ethical, and philosophical significance.

The curriculum for a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design is designed in a way that students will become aware of themselves and their ideals throughout the course of four years. They will grasp what they value in society and how to use this to guide their design education. This allows individuals to choose the type of Graphic designer they wish to be as they advance.

The villaging modules are intentionally the same for all the programmes to ensure development of the self and the village community.

With a support system of relevant people who assist the villagers at every junction, each villager charters their own personal learning path which is custom made for them with a great mix and match of experiences, projects and tools.

An end to end, integrated understanding of Graphic and Communication Design -

The curriculum of The Design Village questions the stereotypical definitions of graphics and its education of being taught in isolation. It offers the programme in context with other design fields and events/changes occurring in the world through offering innovative electives shared with other design fields. This opens up new ways of looking at graphics.

Students who choose to pursue a Master Course in Graphic designing receive a recognized master of Design degree. The course fee is INR 10,00,000 for two years and includes the tuition fee for an international semester. Other than this students one time fee for Registration, Security and Summer school security are applicable. Upto 100% Scholarships and funding options are available.

The course duration is 2 years.

We have seen that fresh graduates can expect a starting salary range of INR 35,000 - 60,000 per month, depending on the brand and the opportunity. Mid level professionals (5 yrs -10 years) are likely to be in the salary range INR 60,000 - INR 100,000. Professionals over 10 years of experience can command salaries upto INR 150,000 - 200,000.
