The Bachelor in Interaction Design is an undergraduate programme in which students gain in-depth knowledge and perspective of the field Interaction Design. This programme trains students to think and act cohesively. The students are trained in skills of visualization and communication, ethnography studies, research methods, brand building and many such multi focal courses that give them a holistic understanding of their field of work. The Interaction Design Course at TDV also helps to understand the making, marketing, manufacturing and communication of Interaction devices in context with factors affecting the world like sustainability, big data and much more.

The admission process at TDV involves the following steps -

  • Step 1 : Statement of Purpose to be submitted alongwith the application form.
  • Step 2 : Writing, sketching and model making exercise
  • Step 3 : Portfolio of creative work and explorations
  • Step 4 : A personal interview with a panel of Jurors.

An end to end, integrated understanding of Interaction Design -

  • Physical computing and Creative coding, Interface design and interactive devices are a few focused and comprehensive courses that equip the students to be able to intervene in any of the multiple domains that are impacted by interaction design.
  • Communication skills – Animation, game design, video prototyping and rendering techniques enable the students to communicate their visualizations better and lead to more gratifying experience for the user.
  • Human centred design – UX and UI become important aids that facilitate the design explorations of the interaction design student at TDV. Courses like colour theory, ethnography, psychology help in keeping the students’ focus on the users.

The curriculum of The Design Village questions the stereotypical definitions of interaction design which is limited to UX/UI and its education of being taught in isolation. It offers the programme in context with other design fields and events/changes occurring in the world through offering innovative electives shared with other design fields. This opens up new ways of looking at interaction with the products.

Students who choose to pursue a Bachelor Course in Interaction Design receive a recognized Bachelor of Design degree. The course fee is INR 24,00,000 for four years and includes the tuition fee for an international semester. Other than this students one time fee for Registration, Security and Summer school security are applicable. Upto 100% Scholarships and funding options are available.

The course duration is 4 years.

    In addition courses like Implications of Design, Visual Aesthetics, Conflicting concerns, Context Mapping, Design for values, and many more are offered as electives alongside.

We have seen that fresh graduates can expect a starting salary range of INR 35,000 - 60,000 per month, depending on the brand and the opportunity. Mid level professionals (5 yrs -10 years) are likely to be in the salary range INR 60,000 - INR 100,000. Professionals over 10 years of experience can command salaries upto INR 150,000 - 200,000.
