Experience an
Industry-centric Curriculum

Curriculum of Communication and Interaction Design programmes at The Design Village has been crafted by a board of industry leaders, with an aim to train students in the latest knowledge, skills, and technologies essential for success in a rapidly scaling industry. To ensure each student’s personal education goals are met, the curriculum revolves around a manifesto written by a student when they start the programme, and evolved every year with guidance of their facilitators.

Self Discovery

The discovery of the self in terms of ones ideology, attitude, skill set, temperament etc. need to be aligned to the awareness of the world around so that a designer is able to position themself in this world. The course entails understanding the mechanisms towards this, and helps bring students from different backgrounds together.

Materials, Media and Interfaces
The course focuses on the exploration of various materials and media for communication and interaction design. Students develop their skills in different media, examine the role of interfaces and devices in facilitating communication, and gain a deeper understanding of the interplay between materials, media and interfaces.

Representation and Prototyping
The course teaches essential skills of creating video prototypes to effectively communicate ideas. Students will learn various techniques for producing compelling video prototypes and collateral. The course covers layout design, including the use of grid systems, typography, alignments, and binding techniques. By mastering these skills, students will be able to present their work professionally and persuasively in both physical and digital media.

Interactive Design and Creative Coding
The course teaches students how to use coding to create interactive experiences that engage audiences and effectively communicate content. Students learn quick coding techniques, and explore various forms of interface design. By the end of the course, students will be proficient in creating dynamic interfaces and using creative coding.

Animation and Game Design
The course equips communication and interaction designers with the skills to think in motion, whether for websites, AR experiences, or other projects. Students learn the basics of animation and movement creation, applying both physical and digital techniques to enhance their future work. The course also delves into gamification, exploring how game design can be used to improve communication. Students will have the opportunity to design both physical and digital games, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the powerful gamification method.

Aesthetics are core to every design project. The course inculcates an understanding of aesthetics that goes beyond surface-level visual appeal to experiences, multi-sensoriality and conceptual theories. It helps the student realize that aesthetics is not just about beauty, but also about the basic response to any and all objects of desire.

Exchange of monetary values brings legal frameworks into the picture, and the designing of a business helps to understand that better. The course helps students becomes aware about the hurdles that may come in way of the intended design solution the designer has prepared for a user. Designers require skills to articulate the outcomes of their research, while being mindful that their personal briefs do not cloud their judgement. 1) What is the admission eligibility criteria for enrolling in Masters in Communication and Interaction Design course at The Design Village?

1)Admission into a postgraduate programme at TDV requires successful completion of 10+2+3/4 (Pass/Appearing), i.e. being a graduate in any discipline from any recognized institution or university.

2) How to enroll for a Master of Communication and Interaction Design course at The Design Village?

2)The admission process at TDV is divided in two tiers:

Tier 1: TDV Entrance Exam (Online Mode)
Tier 2: Interaction Round (Online Mode)

3) What is the fee of the Master of Communication and Interaction Design Programme at TDV?

3)The total cost of the two-year Master of Communication and Interaction Design programme at The Design Village is INR 12,50,000/-. This includes tuition fee for the programme including an international semester.
Additionally, there is a one-time registration fee of Rs. 50,000/-. TDV does offer Merit Scholarships to eligible students.

4)Yes, The Design Village welcomes international students to its Masters in Communication and Interaction Design course. International applicants must clear TDV’s two-tier evaluation process.
