A villager is chosen on a basis of a written entrance examination, a situation test, a group discussion round and a personal interview conducted by TDV. Students are also encouraged to share their design portfolios at the time of the interview. This can pertain to any creative and relevant work and should be supported with a statement of purpose
The pattern of TDV written exam pattern is as follows :

This test is for understanding the candidate’s capacity to envision dreams. It consists of questions related to intellectual problem solving, analytical skills, courage, perseverance and presentation ideas.

Water covers 71% of the earth’s surface. It is vital for all known forms of life. Water plays an important role in the world economy. Approximately 70% of the freshwater used by humans goes to agriculture. Fishing in salt and freshwater bodies is a major source of food for many parts of the world. Water is also central to many sports and other forms of entertainment, such as swimming, pleasure boating, boat racing, surfing, sport fishing, and diving. Design an environment/intervention/ product that celebrates water or any water-based activity and helps you understand its value. Explain your design in 100 words.
Courage, Perseverance and Presentation
Access to drinking water, water supply and sanitation in India continue to be inadequate, despite longstanding efforts by the various levels of government and communities at improving coverage. In such a scenario, design a product or a service that will help to address this issue. You can choose to work in continuation with your previous design or design a new one altogether.
